Bio

My name is Judith. I was born, grew up and was educated in Barcelona. More than
20 years ago, I started a new life in Torrevieja, Alicante. In this city I
could make one of my dreams came true, I could study to be a translator and I
started doing short translations for my friends and people around me, but
little by little I realized how gratifying it is for me to be able to help
people being communicated and enjoy myself the wonderful art of translation.

I have a
degree in English from Cambridge University and I successfully completed the "Literary Translation" course given by Calamo y Cran S.L and a "Correction, Style and Variations of the Spanish Language" course from Barcelona University.

I also studied the Italian language privately in my own country of origin and in Italy.

Spanish and Catalan are my mother
tongues, both spoken and written, which makes me bilingual in these two
languages.

During
my professional career I have translated general documents, instruction books,
certificates, e-commerce and website related topics, as well as 18 years working at a hospital combining
medical translation with administrative tasks. Currently I am also a verified
volunteer translator for Translators Without Borders. So, I could say my best
expertise areas are websites topics, apps, e-commerce, medical and NGOs.

My long work experience, in which I have held administrative positions combined
with translation, has enriched my repertoire of skills on a daily basis,
including excellence in communication and a great capacity for motivation,
adding to my skills in the following areas:

- Meeting targets and respecting deadlines through proper management of
resources.

- Translating from English into Spanish and giving language classes to both
children and adults.

- Handle computer systems.

- CAT Tools:  SDL Trados 2022 (desktop version of my own), Phrase (Memsource) and
Matecat.

Keywords: English to Spanish, website, medicine, e-commerce, SDL Trados, LQR, NGO
