I know this means "heads towards" or "travels in the direction of", but for pipelines.....?

Tra le altre pipeline ci sono la Kazakistan-China Pipeline, lunga 1.384 miglia che parte dal porto di Atyrau e arriva ad Alashankou nella regione dello Xinjiang; la pipeline Uzen-Atyrau-Samara che dal Mar Caspio prende la direzione della Russia.

My attempt is:
".....in the Xinjiang region, as well as the Uzen-Atyrau-Samara pipeline that exports from the Caspian Sea towards Russia."

As you will see I have added this verb (exports), but I cannot think of another way of expressing this without adding a verb......???

For 'la pipeline Uzen-Atyrau-Samara che dal Mar Caspio prende la direzione della Russia.' I would simply say 'the Uzen-Atyrau-Samara pipeline after the Caspian Sea turns towards Russia'.

Your suggested translation should read "pipeline, which", not "pipeline that".

@ Shabelula Yes, its a good word, but as I said, I like "proceeds" "heads towards". But it is worth posting "funnels" and see if people agree, I also like to see where the agrees are given.

sono contenta se a una madrelingua piace una mia soluzione, Lara! :) no funnel era in senso figurato, per "convogliare" l'ho visto usare per le armi

@ Shabelula Thanks, I think "proceeds towards" is best here, or even "travels towards" I suppose. This is regarding an oil pipeline, so I am not sure "funnel" is a good risk to take (i.e. are oil pipes funnel-shaped?)

mi viene il verbo "funnel" ma non so cosa contiene il pipeline (tipo: from the Caspian sea, the pipeline funnels its content towards Russia) e poi non è proprio letterale. Anche proceeds o heads towards forse possono andar bene
