English term

cautions

English to Portuguese Social Sciences Law (general) Human rights
Hi guys!

I need to translate "cautions" into Brazilian Portuguese, as in the sentence:
"...charges of soliciting & brothel-keeping, "prostitute cautions", civil orders, police seizing your money, as well as help if you are threatened or attacked."

Context: Sex workers' information sheet regarding violence against police, clients, etc. They are usually charged for "cautions, soliciting, and loitering".

Thanks in advance!

Discussion

expressisverbis May 16, 2020:
Este texto parece ajudar: “Persistently” is defined as behaviour that takes place on two or more occasions in any three-month period10. If you have any ‘Prostitutes’ Cautions’ recorded against you (see page 72 for details) these can be used as evidence of persistence.

“Soliciting” includes inviting possible customers with things like words, winks, glances, gestures, smiles or seductive movements. It also includes loitering (see below), either on foot or in a vehicle, where you have no intention to move on. It can also include sitting in a window if you are clearly soliciting, for instance wearing revealing clothing, sitting under a red light, in an area where prostitutes are sought (red light area or ‘beat’).

“Loitering” is lingering, or hanging around, with no intention to move on either by foot or in a vehicle.

O termo pode ter outro sentido, mas não consigo ver mais nenhum além do sentido original.
Encontrei este texto:
What it comes down to is evidence, if you have been caught during the commission of a crime then you can be arrested on the spot, charged at the police station and interviewed under caution. If they have only a suspicion and no evidence then they can interview you voluntarily or under caution, then charge you.
If you have been arrested, you must be cautioned and interviewed ‘under caution’, at which time you will have the right to legal representation.

Será que queriam dizer "charged under caution"? Acusada sob advertência (anterior/prévia).

Nick Taylor May 16, 2020:
@anybody - is the source text GB or US? Police "caution" GB and Aus only - to get off with a caution (non prosecution)
A police caution as a non-statutory disposal of an offence is quite different from the caution used for the purpose of advising a suspect of their right to silence.[3]

Mario Freitas May 16, 2020:
Charges People, let's read this togheter: They are usually charged for "cautions, soliciting, and loitering". These people are "charged" for illegal acts, among which, the so-called cautions. These are not police acts, they are some kind of unlawful act committed by the prostitutes. I'm not sure what it could be in Portuguese, but it's most certainly not "advertências".
expressisverbis May 15, 2020:
Nick, não existe esse termo, pelo menos, em pt-pt, mas "notificações" talvez seja um termo a não excluir.
expressisverbis May 15, 2020:
Eu vejo "cautions" como advertências feitas pela polícia às prostitutas.
Num registo criminal, por exemplo, também é o termo que aparece.
Nick Taylor May 15, 2020:
@anybody prudências jurídicas maybe?
Aline Amorim May 15, 2020:
Cautions Obrigada, Mario! Bem observado.
Mario Freitas May 15, 2020:
