Discussion

Vladyslav Golovaty Dec 21, 2013:
grades of the bread for underprivileged sections just to get rid of "a loaf piece"; слои населения - strata of the people, sections of the population; underprivileged sections - малоимущие слои населения; сегмент рынка — segment of the market, here сегмент - block? сорт - (категория, разряд товара) sort; kind, variety; (качество) quality, grade
Naveen Kar (asker) Dec 20, 2013:
IMO I am thinking of: Most popular varieties of bread?

a segment of social sorts of bread

As the term "social bread" was invented and brought in by the Ukranian government I think it should remain as it is without literal translation.
Peer comment(s):

disagree The Misha : This is absolutely incomprehensible for an English speaker unfamiliar with the subject matter. We are translating meanings here, not words, right?

Thanks, Misha. I'll take into consideration what you've said)
neutral Rachel Douglas : I agree with Misha that this is absolutely crazy in English, but it also sounds very funny, so thanks for the laugh!
