There are many subtitle editors like Aegisub and Subtitle Edit, but they are not designed as a CAT tool. So I decided to create one and it is named Silhouette.

Features:

1. AI-powered speech recognition and voice activity detection using models like OpenAI Whisper. It supports various natural languages like English, Chinese, Japanese, etc.
2. AI-powered translation which takes the context into consideration. ChatGPT and DeepSeek supported.
3. Easy-to-use interface to adjust the subtitle lines with the help of the waveform and various playback controls.
4. Cross-platform. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
5. Subtitle file export and import (SRT, XLIFF or TXT)
6. Alignment of the recognized timelines and existing text (forced alignment)

Hello Xulihang

I reviewed this tool, I am wondering if it is possible to add new languages-- I am focusing Kurdish language "Sorani dialect"?

Yes. You can enter the language code "ku" to set the language as Kurdish.

There is another subtitling tool that includes translation memory, but the more the merrier, so well done! I will give Silhouette a try.
