I am not an expert. Not at all.
But I know Omnipage and think that is really useful.
My very small contribution!

I voted Abbyy as it's what I use and I'm quite happy with it. I've never tried anything else, however, so I can't really claim it to be the "most useful".

Seeing as it is highly unlikely that anyone who isn't a complete nerd would have tried more than one or, at most, two types of software, the answers to this question are rather meaningless.

And hence can "convert" pdf files which contain images. The rest, can cope only with pdf files containing text. So really, the poll is misleading.
I use Zamzar and find it very useful, though I haven't tried it with images.

How am I supposed to know? It is highly unlikely that any of us have all of these.

The questioner's point is clearly in effect "which conversion tool would you recommend for producing usable output from a PDF?", I don't think there is any need to get bogged down in literal interpretations of it here.

How are you supposed to know if you have only used one of them?
I have used Finereader10 and a couple of other ones that are not listed, all of them have only provided a sufficient result that have needed reworking / tidying up.
But would I recommend it?

I use Solid too. Affordable and reliable, plus it has OCR, etc. etc. But even though I'm a pretty computer-literate person, I haven't tried any of the other converters listed here, which makes me wonder why the poll was even run!

I have used PDF converter 3.0 and I was quite satisfied. It could also do OCR conversion.
I ahve just ordered the 6.0 version and will come back shortly about its qualities.

If you think it's good, vote for it, if you're not convinced then abstain; I can't see what the problem is, no-one is seriously expecting a translator to have made an in-depth study of several different products. The spirit of the question is clear, no need for pedantry here.
