All such moments are a welcome break from work. Why would a translation play on your mind so much?

... at least about the subject.
I choose to watch TV programmes that are related to my (favourite) subjects, even holiday travels are often connected to translation(s), as research on a topic for instance, or I bump into situations, names or places I translated about earlier.
I admitted I am a workaholic in a previous poll, didn't I?

I have to admit that I'm the same as Interlangue. Lots of reading and films are stored as possible fodder for inspiration. Sometimes I can't help wondering "What would that be in English?".
For the most part it's down to the simple reason that translation is my bread and butter. I think about what I have to do the next day, how to rearrange my schedule, I might mull over difficult documents/terms, etc. As we've all said a million other times, working freelance means thinking about t... I disconnect myself completely when I am not in a non-work-related activity, and simply enjoy the moment.

I have to admit that I'm constantly thinking about all the commitments I have to fulfill, and sometimes it doesn't allow me to enjoy times with my family.
However, I am getting better at taking things more calmly and accepting my limitations as to what I'm able and unable to do and am focusing more on what I like doing rather than what I "have to do", and that helps a lot.

me too, as I am involved in technical translations, when I drive on the Autobahn, i do actually look at the lorries when driving past them to see if the device is actually there where I have translated it (or similar with other objects).
And sometimes when I have a topic which is a bit difficult, and somthing goes into my head when someone else is speaking about something else then that triggers my brain as well

I chose the only appropriate answer available: "Yes, sometimes." If there had been an option of "occasionally" or even "rarely," that would have been my choice.
