The computer has many uses, one of them translation.

than 9 hours, usually up to 14 hours a day. Lots to do, not only translating, but admin as well.
Who only spends 1 hour a day translating on their computer??

There's no average for me when it comes to time spend on the computer. There's only an avarage minimum of 5 hours. It depends on what I'm doing, translating or writing... 20 - 22 hours can easily accumulate in one day, normally for 1 - 3 days in a row. That's how it is when you love what you're doing. And no, there's still time for social activities.

Pretty much everything I want to do nowadays seems to involve the computer:
family contacts,
email exchanges with friends,
forums about Fuerteventura (where I've only lived for a few months),
shopping,
arranging holidays,
catching up with the news,
giving newbies advice on ProZ.com,
finding out about anything and everything - that's addictive.

Now most of us are living with the Internet, doing jobs, shopping, chatting and playing games, etc. This might be the so-called cyber survivability.

Just an hour...it would be my dream. This year I switched to sleep/work/sleep mode. Yes, sometimes my children bring me to eat.
It is the so called Swiss Franc loan credit mode but under nickname

In 1991, I started spending 2-4 hours in front of a x386 IBM computer, a loaner, to play chess against the machine and learn the basics of DOS 5.0.
In 1992, I was spending 8-12 hours daily as soon as I received my IBM clone with Windows 3.0. There was so much to learn!
I lost count after the mid 90s. All I cared was to learn new software for work, translate, play with Photoshop and desktop publishing programs, shoot emails, scan all my documents to PDF format (to have ...
