I add to or amend my glossaries while working with Wordfast. It is part of my daily translation routine, so I don't have to set aside any specific time during the day or week.

I don't build or maintain glossaries as a matter of course - am usually too busy doing something else.
I use WF Classic, but I don't exploit all of its possibilities, and rarely if ever do anything with the glossary function. If there is any specific key vocab used by a particular client (for example, some of them prefer to use "vendor", which I find terribly quaint, instead of "supplier"), I just make a note of these items in a Word document, for future reference.

But I use MultiTerm instead. What a brilliant thing. Every so often I do hunt out old terminology lists and add them, or take some time to create a new termbase, but it doesn't take very long - and boy is it worth it.

I don't maintain personal glossaries as such, but do have extensive TMs for different customers and subject areas. So I can use the concordance function to search any terms and see how I have translated them before.

None! I dont need any personal glossaries (except the one in ProZ) as I dont have the time for it. If specific glossaries are required, then my customer provides these and I use them, otherwise I always have pretty much well maintained TMs that I use customer-specific and seeing as almost all of my customers have their own specific terms for the different parts they have, it does not make much sense to have my own "personal" gloss.

I add to my glossaries while working, it is part of my daily translation routine, but I have been compiling an acronym glossary (PT(pt) for the last 30 years (200 pages now!) and I update it from time to time...

I am impressed, Teresa - although not surprised that the glossary is so large.
Most of my glossaries are in Excel from BT (Before Trados). I look forward to reorganising them once Multiterm materialises on my desktop.

I used to rely mainly on the concordance function as well when I needed to find terms I'd previously translated, but lately I've found that taking 10 seconds to add a glossary entry every time I have to look up or confirm a term, or every time I find myself typing in the same longish "set" term phrase (even if it's something I know) that reappears dozens of times in a long document, saves me time and wear-and-tear on my fingers, and improves the consistency of my terminology across long document... It started out as a reaction to the uses (and abuses) of acronyms and abbreviations [though I am not a member of the AAAAAA (Association for the Abolition of Abused Abbreviations and Asinine Acronyms)] and it has been growing like a weed…

I build glossaries in my CAT tool as I go, then after delivery I integrate changes with my master glossary, where required.
Customer-specific glossaries can help me translate the same term different ways for different customers without having to remember who prefers what.
And the QA function makes it easy to ensure that I've used the same translation for the same term throughout the same job (without having to check manually - useful if the different occurrences of the ... I think I need 2 hours/week to update my Excel glossary. It's open most of the time for constant edition. It hass almost 9,000 entries after 15 years...
