In the end, I have to have US dollars, but PayPal does the conversion for me. Other than US dollars, I mostly receive euros and Japanese yen.

99,9 % euro as all my customer but one are in Europe.
Agencies in countries that are not members of the Euro-zone also pay in euros : Switzerland and UK in my case.
Bank transfer in the Euro-zone is (almost) costfree with my bank, as it is part of my Internet banking package.
One Australian client pays in US dollar via Paypal.

Euros and Sterling. I have a separate bank account for each. I have previously had customers pay in dollars but the fees (either for a cheque or Paypal) are so extortionate that it is simply not worth my while.

Almost all of my invoices are denominated in the above three currencies, although I am happy to deal in any currency that the client wishes. The last time that I invoiced in another currency was in 2006, when I charged for an assignment in Turkish lira.

I have to deal with SEK as well as EUR, GBP and USD. I am hugely in favour of a single European currency, not just because of exchange rates but also because SEK are about 10 times EUR and all the 000s make my brain hurt!

I have a preference for Euro, but any convertible currency which does not lose value against the Euro in the time it takes to pay me is acceptable.

My situation is exactly the same, except that my euro PayPal account has a second balance in USD: anything that comes in in USD stays in USD until I want to buy something on the internet that's priced in USD. Mind you, now that I'm in Spain I bank with a company who don't charge anything for accepting anything, and their rate of exchange is reasonable, so I can accept wire transfers from anywhere (as long as the client pays expenses at their end). They don't like accepting cheques, though (not even from Spain!).

I voted three, because most of my payments are in Danish Kroner, Sterling or Euros, but I happily accepted New Zealand Dollars last month and don't mind USD if offered them.
The rate is far more important than the currency, although one Norwegian client's bank has a nasty habit of docking a large sum for administration. I find Norwegians are normally so obliging... At least it is a fixed sum, and I often do medium-large jobs for that client. The small ones would simply not be worth ... GBP or bust for us. If I bought something from abroad, I wouldn't expect to be given a price in GBP. Our customers are also in a better position to assume currency risks than we are (i.e. bigger).

I really do not care what currency they pay me in. I set my price according to the exange rate, and my bank fix everything else. Money is money. I get my money, and everyone is happy.

These days it's CAD, USD, GBP and Euro, for most of my clients. But I accept any currency as long as it can be handled by Paypal or my bank.
