The clients who send me regular work in my core area of specialisation are my favourites, although I love them all.

Part of my brand is sending personal mails - 'short and sweet' - with deliveries whenever I can. Even if it is basically only to wish them a nice weekend or comment on the weather.
Some of the PMs really warm to this, and we have built up a friendly relationship. I find it a quick, painless and highly effective kind of marketing, and it is easier to raise questions when issues arise - I have an idea of how they will be received, and how to propose a solution.
If the moaning gets serious, I consider dropping the client!

... and in special a long-standing client who sends me work almost every week, is very organized, pays very well and always on time… I can’t but love him!

it's the bum clients who are the minority! most of my clients are good, respectful, organized, helpful etc.

I will drop a client immediately if I have to educate their reviewers or proofreaders on the use of the English language. I don't have time to explain to them why my translation is not incorrect!
