Just English and Spanish for us. We bounce between both languages so much that it's hard to say which one we speak more. Especially when we include Spanglish - Workiar (to work), Slipiar (to sleep), etc...

So far, I only think in Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian Language).

I am native Arabic, I think in Arabic and English, the latter for professional purposes. Especially when I want to prove my point of view and argue, eventually refute counter view.
Sometimes I think in French when I speak with friends and when I listen to French, I forget any other language and concentrate fully on the words of the speaker. This is a very good way to learn a language very quickly; concentration and detachment.

While I have been translating from Spanish for decades, I don't "think" in Spanish very much. I do think (and dream) in Portuguese, which I spoke exclusively at home for 9 years.

My thinking is dominated by English/Polish hybrid, but occasionally Cantonese words (especially "internal exclamations" ) sneak in.

a verbal level--perhaps to some extent, but not all of it. I dream in a few languages, though--I hear the dialogue in a few languages at least-- it depends when--I am sure about that, but thinking is mostly an extralingusitic phenomenon. The part that requires language--in English, mostly.

I used to think in 'only' two languages, being Dutch (my native language) and English (the language of my household) but now that I am increasingly immersing myself into the French society (I didn't move to France to live on an island where all my contacts speak English), French is not an alien language anymore - took me long enough to learn, though - and during discussions with people I meet socially, I catch myself thinking in French as well  ... During the summer months I encounter a good bit of German friends who live nearby, and when talking with them, I tend to think in German, too, and watching a lot of German TV helps keeping the passive knowledge of German up to speed as well. In Ukraine a lot of people tend to think in and sometimes speak two languages (Russian and Ukrainian). This is because all TV channels, radio stations, newspapers are bilingual - although the only official language is Ukrainian.
This is a very interesting phenomenon. I know several internationally recognized linguists who are going to study this situation.
I also sometimes think in English.

Portuguese, French and English. Like Muriel, I have been translating from Spanish for decades but I can't remember ever thinking in Spanish and the same happens with Italian, maybe because I don't speak those two languages as well... That being said, I dreamt once in Japanese and I don't actually speak the language!!!

I usually think in Italian but, when I dream, I often think and speak in English. Then, I think in Spanish too, but only when I'm speaking Spanish.

I usually think in Italian, but if I spend many weeks with my mother I think in Spanish, and I continue after her departure.
But I dreamt in Spanish one or two times in my life.

Basically I think in a mixture of German and English with quite a few "sprinkles" of Spanish.
But it happens quite often that other languages merge into my thinking, depending on which term in which language first comes to mind. Sometimes I think of my brain as the UN or Babylon in regards to the languages that flow through it.
And no, it hasn't happen yet that I couldn't understand my own thoughts.

I think in Dutch, German and Frisian. Well...actually when I am in London I start thing English.
My dreams happen to be in German. And now I moved out of town to live in the country I get involved more kn speaking Frisian, and thinking comes with it so easily.
