It happens mostly when I get very long documents. Last year I had one that 52,000 words long, and I felt really burned out by the time I finished.

I swithered between "rarely" and "sometimes" on this one...

It hasn't happened for while, but I usually only feel burnout when too many client demands converge at the same time and the pressure lasts too long. Otherwise, I usually work in enough different areas to avoid getting bored to death by the contents.

I did wonder if you meant "dither" when you wrote "swither", Neil. Great word!
I also swithered between "rarely" and "sometimes" on this one for pretty much the same reasons as you.

I swither (thanks, Neil!) between rarely and never... Mar 23, 2014

Experience has taught me a few lessons: with time, I became very organized and disciplined work-wise, I never bite off more than I can chew and I go by the pledge: “Never promise what I can't deliver and always deliver what I promise”… This being said, there’s a really important factor: I live sort of alone, meaning that my sole responsibility besides work is to take care of my daughter’s dog, Troia, during the day – and sometimes during the night…
