I walk 2 miles a day with my dogs, and I try to go to the gym twice a week.
Do few-mile walks count as exercise? I try to have those at least once every two weeks, and more often if time allows.
I also walk a lot; I usually choose to walk instead of a ride a few bus stops.

unfortunately not, but I will have to do something about it though.
And the longer I wait the more difficult it is:-( | | | | Diana Obermeyer Обединето Кралство Local time: 07:19 германски на англиски + ... | I live for the outdoors... | Apr 14, 2014 |
... and working from home makes that all the more accessible. I get to live remote so I can make the most of my surroundings. I enjoy 2-3 hours of hill-walking a day with the dogs, do some rock-climbing and, if the weather isn't too bad, I cycle to the local shop 7 miles away... but I'm nowhere near as active as I was 10 years ago.
Like Diana, I love outdoors activities, and because I decide my own hours I nearly always find time for exercise. I haven't done any rock climbing since I moved back to the Netherlands from the UK, but I run about 3 times a week, I row about twice a week, I like walking (training has started for another 4-day hiking mini-holiday with my father which I do almost every year) and I try to do some roller blading in between. Being my own boss means I can do all that when the weather is nice, and make... Apart from that I make sure my chair is not too comfortable so I get up and walk around a bit every one or two hours. ▲ Collapse | | | | Kay Denney Франција Local time: 08:19 француски на англиски
Swimming twice a week, usually 40 lengths which makes 1km.
I take the dog out now and again (supposed to be the kids' job but they have more hectic social lives than M&D)
I use my bike for any distances I can cover in less than 40 minutes, mostly at weekends.
I wiggle my feet under the desk every so often (this was a tip in a book I proofread about circulation).
If I do have to take the Metro, I have to climb a steep hill to get there and I usually prefer to walk for 10-1... See more Swimming twice a week, usually 40 lengths which makes 1km.

I'm not really into sport but I have found that if I don't exercise I have terrible circulation problems, cold feet and hands, difficulty standing, even just when cooking dinner, and I'm so exhausted I can't even summon up any good humour, so all round, it's much better when I manage to exercise. I have had a couple of minor problems lately meaning I have had to go more gently, my legs just feel awful and I can't wait to get back on form! ▲ Collapse

is my sole source of transportation. So by necessity I ride several kilometers almost every day, and make a 30-km. round trip to the next town over about once a week. I live in a beautiful part of the country, particularly gorgeous at this time of the year, and enjoy being outside so I don't think of this as exercise but as pleasure. Actually come to think of it, if "sedentary" is defined as "characterized by or requiring much sitting," could you call biking sedentary exercise?

I am lazy, but I sometimes like walking in the country. Moreover, I have two little girls aged 3 and 4, so I have my personal trainers
I know I could do more but, as I wrote, I am too lazy.
My doctor says that I should do more. Anyway, when I’m in Brussels I walk a lot (it’s fairly easier to walk in Brussels than in hilly Lisbon). When I’m in Lisbon I walk my daughter’s dog 3 times a day…

I hit the gym at least 3 times a week, where I do cardio and weights for about 2 hours. Will soon resume yoga twice a week in the evenings. Also take a 10-min break every hour during the work day to do eye 'exercises' and stomp my feet, lol. | | | | Sara Maghini Обединето Кралство Local time: 07:19 англиски на италијански + ... | Same as Muriel | Apr 14, 2014 |

I walk for about half an hour a day with my dog, and I do body combat twice a week. When I have time, I also go to the gym an extra day a week to train on my own (bike, treadmill, rowing machine).
Now that days are getting longer and warmer, I want to start running as well - I have enrolled in a 5k marathon for Cancer Research UK in September, and I NEED to start training for it! By the way, if anyone would like to sponsor me, this is the link:

I've got my very own personal trainers in the form of my two little boys. Before I had them I went to the gym 2 or 3 times a week in order to avoid a painful back and legs from all the sitting around. | | | | | Страници во темата: [1 2 3] > | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: Since translation is a sedentary profession, do you find time to exercise regularly? | Pastey | Your smart companion app
