Typically 3: EUR, GBP and USD (as I said last year to a very similar question). I have a preference for EUR, but any convertible currency which does not lose value against the Euro is acceptable. Over the years I have also accepted CAD, JPY, SEK…

I have bank accounts in three countries so I accept the three currencies of Brazil, Portugal and the UK. I don't accept cheques and I don't like PayPal but will use it at a pinch.

Paypal makes it easy Aug 22, 2014

I've provided quotes in 4 currencies: USD, EUR, CAD, and GBP. PayPal makes it easy to accept all kinds of currencies. Although I have a bank account in France, it's just a relic from my internship days. Since I don't live there, I have yet to accept any payment for freelance translation work in this French account.

As I think I've said here before, it's GBP or bust for me - and none of my customers are in the UK

They are in a better position to absorb currency fluctuations than I am

In principle, all currencies; in practice, three: GBP, EUR and USD. However, I see that the last time I invoiced in USD was over three years ago. European based translators, unfortunately, are too expensive for the American market now the dollar is weak.

I've never not accepted payment in any currency as long as it comes out as an acceptable amount in £. The only ones I've ever dealt with though are GBP, EUR and USD.

GBP, EUR, and USD.

I don't think I've ever been asked to quote in a different one.

Oh, wait, I was once, in RMB, when I lived in Hong Kong. A Chinese agency thought HK uses Chinese currency, because it is "one country".

All my clients pay in euros. I wouldn't have it any other way!

According to Brazilan law, I can only receive in BRL, the local currency. The banks here are prepared to convert USD, EUR, and GBP immediately, and without any hassle.

Any other currency will cause me a lot of trouble here.

I have a yen for yen.

Most payments are domestic anyway but the once-in-a-blue-moon overseas payment is either sent in yen after conversion by the sender's bank or automatically converted to yen once it is paid into my (Japanese) bank account.

USD and EUR, having set up a dual currency account with PayPal.

Sometimes both EUR and USD are sent to my bank account. Thus far, the bank fees, including those for currency conversion, were surprisingly low; in any case, lower than PayPal's fees.

Eur (preferably) GBP and USD though I would also accept Canadian.

I use PayPal only when bank transfers are more expensive.
