I don't really understand the question. I don't not go out because of deadlines. I have other commitments. Work is generally kept within working hours with the occasional foray into the evenings. But I don't cancel social commitments because of work, unless I'm finding an excuse for something I want to duck out of anyway!

A few years ago, when I was just starting up as a freelance translator, I rotted at home for 10 days "because caring for the kids is not leaving enough time for me to translate".
Never again!
I have since learned how going out, breathing the air, exercising, and implementing some sort of work/life balance will instantly reflect on my productivity.

When I happen to stay at home for whatever length of time it has nothing to do with work or deadlines, but because I don’t feel like going out or I don’t need to…
P.S. I live alone and work from home, but as I daycare for my daughter's dog I have to go out...

As part as a healthy routine, and indeed to work better, I would never refuse to go out because of work.

Due to other commitments every other day, it's not possible to stay home and work for more than 1 day at a time.
If the question aims at going out for a lengthy shopping trip or enjoying other activities while working on a large project, the answer would turn out quite differently.

I remember a particulary long and tough translation I did last year, with an extremely short deadline. I stayed at home for three days or even more without going out, as I just slept, ate, worked and, again, slept, ate and worked... I was living abroad sharing a flat with other people, so sometimes I went out to the kitchen and chatted with my flatmates to have some relax.

I need to wake my brain up before I work. I need to keep my blood pressure at a healthy level. The more I try to work against my natural rhythm, the fewer words will be translated at the end of a (longer) day.
In my case: wake up, have coffee, put on trousers, check for new graffiti, do chores chosen to take up just the right amount of physical energy, take trousers off, sit down to work. If I skip any of these steps, results will suffer.

Same here.
What do you mean by "going out"? Leaving the house or socialising? I assumed you meant leaving the house, but no matter how late I might be running in a particular project I too have other commitments that imply I should leave the house regularly. It gets tiring at times, but getting fresh air and doing other things allows me to focus better once I get back to my desk.

Yes, I meant leaving the house.
My observations match yours regarding focus and productivity

Not counting taking my dogs out. I take them out 4 times a day, rain or shine, work or no work.
I understand 'go out' to mean get groceries, see a doctor (I'm old), socialize, and things like that.

I have actually stayed at home for two days to meet deadlines. But I cannot simply put the translations as a priority over absolutely any other issue. I have kids, family, bills to pay, etc. So, whenever this happens, it means I have no other important commitments, and translation is the priority.
Plus, it is widely known that working for too many hours in the same activity becomes gradually less yielding, and you'll start making unbeilevable mistakes and losing concentration. So, b...
