But I didn't give it a fair try, so I can't really comment.
I now have cataract replacements in both eyes and see better than a teenager. What a joy!

Must admit, but only because I do not have any eye problems, probably.
Chau Nguyen Виетнам Local time: 16:37 Член (2012) англиски на виетнамски + ... | Dual monitor helps | Sep 22, 2016 |
I had experienced neck pain and eye strain until I switched to using dual monitor.
It is hard to remind yourself to look elsewhere or to make some head movement when you're immersed in translation. By using two monitors, I force myself to look left and right and at the same time also move my head.

A friend (and ex translator) once advised me to stand up and look out the window to exercise my eye muscles. That changes the focus and relaxes the eyes eventually.
I work with four monitors, so I must be moving my eyes like the chameleons all the time!

I wouldn't focus sunlight into my eye using a magnifying glass though.

Does it really recommend that? A bit irresponsible?
Ilan Rubin (X) Руска Федерација Local time: 12:37 руски на англиски | I had laser surgery | Sep 22, 2016 |
I had terrible eyesight and wore glasses from the age of 13. Minus 7 in one eye and minus 5 1/2 in the other. Plus astigmatism.
Then I had laser correction in 2004, in Russia. And I've had 20/20 ever since. I would definitely recommend it.

An Indian ophthalmologist in Durban once told me that after 40 your vision begins to deteriorate and that no type of surgery will help. He seemed quite knowledgeable, and the friend he operated on confesses to some slippage of the eyesight. Stephen King fans delight in the word slippage
| Yes and I had results with astigmatism | Sep 22, 2016 |
I didn't believe in this method very much until I tried it and got results with my astigmatism. It was reduced in both eyes after I did eye exercices for about one year and a half.
I couldn't reduce my short-sightedness however. I guess I haven't practiced enough. Those eye exercices require (ideally) everyday practice.
If you are interested in this subject, I recommend Meir Schneider's books and particularly his kit because it comes with a CD and I think audio files are the easiest... If you speak French, Xanath Lichy's CDs are good for relaxation sessions (palming, blinking, breathing, rotational movements).

I answered 'no' but I'm certainly going to try some of the exercises. I do use two monitors and that involves a substantial amount of eye movement but you're still looking at printed material, not at objects, movement, and colour in the 'real world'.

I had never heard of it. It could be interesting, but so far I haven't seen any positive comments about it. Let's wait and see if anyone confirms its effectiveness.
