I don’t think currency movements make any difference to whether a potential client chooses to use me. I am not looking for new clients but if they happen to be interested in my services and we come to an agreement regarding my rate, then I'll take whatever currency I'm paid. Anyway, most of my customers are in the euro zone…

But US agencies may start to derate EU translators from extortionately expensive to extremely expensive.
I don't know how you EU translators deal with US agencies, but I factor in a lot of extra expenses in my USD word rate because of how far the USA is, how legal their paperwork is, how expensive bank fees are and how much of a rip-off exchange rates are.
At the end of the day, very few US agencies are prepared to pay 0.15+ for my translations.

No, because the rates agreed with my US clients are in USD, I bill in USD, and I am paid in USD. As nearly half of my billing is in USD, the recent exchange rate movements have compensated for inflation.

No because I only work with clients in the euro zone. I don't want the hassle of currency issues.
(Remembering a UK translator we used to occasionally send work to from France. We'd negotiated a rate, then the exchange rate changed in her favour. I sent her an urgent job and asked how much she'd charge for it, and the flat rate she quoted me worked out at less than the per word rate she charged for non-urgent work!

I don't know whether my fellow translators in my country have already enjoyed the increase or not. I myself haven't yet. But I think it's still too early to notice. Of course, it would be a good thing to us, as long as the existing clients from Europe and other regions don't cut jobs for us.

I've noticed an increase in jobs in Russian and Chinese, from the US, UK and Germany. Nothing to do with currency fluctuations.
