I’m approaching the end of my career, so I’m not interested in breaking into “new” markets and then to top it all AVT is a branch of translation that's severely underpaid…

It's audio-visual translation.

On topic: I would do it if it were actually decently paid, which is not. Not only translators, also voice actors, models/dancers in music videos etc. For instance, a dancer/model in a music video is paid $30/hr, even in high-end videos, and they are severely screened in castings, ending up so happy they got chosen ($30/hr).
