There are two new versions, one worse than the old and one still not live, so what is the question about??
It's been 2 days that the site does not load or takes eons again. Does ProZ address any of the bugs the site is affected by? NOOO. They only make promises like that EV car maker who's telling tales of self driving cars and robots since years.

I did notice a decrease in clients contacting me directly through my profile, which is telling that CLIENTS ARE LEAVING THE SITE, and I am convinced this is due to the bad user experience! If you want to contact someone and the pages don't load (or even the search feature does not work), you'll look somewhere else. This means that ProZ is damaging our and their own business. ▲ Collapse | | | | Luca Adie Германија Local time: 11:49 германски на англиски + ...
I would have left the last poll about African literature on longer, a much more interesting topic. | | |

I’m not familiar at all with the ‘new’ site as I find it rather confusing, fussy, unappealing and even slower than the ‘old’ one. An odd thing happened just now: just to see if things had somehow improved and not to speak out of turn, I decided to visit the ‘new’ site once again, clicked on Quick Poll and after a long moment to load I was thrown back to the ‘old’ site's page…

You must realize that forum users typically do not use the front page, so to us it doesn't really matter that the front page was redesigned. | | | | | Somewhat familiar... | Mar 31, 2025 |
I have seen - and interacted with - one section of the really-new Proz site, but only because I was invited in October last year to join the Women in Translation initiative ( https://www.proz.com/womenintranslation ). See more I have seen - and interacted with - one section of the really-new Proz site, but only because I was invited in October last year to join the Women in Translation initiative ( https://www.proz.com/womenintranslation ). WiT started life as a WhatsApp group, but was subsequently incorporated into the really-new website which was supposedly better-suited to the WiT's programme of activities, but it also served as a test-bed for the new forum system. In the really-new site, 'communities' are a bit like the 'private forums' that have been a (little-known/used) feature of the Proz offering for many years, in that they use the site's main forum infrastructure but access is by invitation only (and the posting rules, such as they are, may be more relaxed).
As a non-paying user of the Proz platform I only have regular hands-on experience of a few areas of the 'old' (= current) site - mainly the forum and Kudoz - so even if other paying-members-only sections were working on the really-new site I wouldn't have had access to those. Kudoz is not (yet...?) on the really-new site.
So, what do I think of the new forum offering? Frankly, regardless of the intrinsic value of the information and opinions shared through the platform (and WiT has indeed covered some worthwhile topics that tend to be avoided on the 'old' forum), the app is an unmitigated disaster in terms of navigability, user-friendliness and a host of other criteria that ought to distinguish the 'venue for language professionals' that we expect to encounter here on Proz, from the brazen bedlam of the (anti-)social networks.
Even when lightly-loaded with recent contributions from a small sub-set of the wider Proz population, I find the new forum interface (based on Discourse...) to be utterly rebarbative. I shudder to think what will happen when (if...?) it becomes the only means to access the entire Proz forum archive...

I recently discovered how to enter the new website. I press on the training section in the current Proz website, which sends me to the new Proz.com website. To be honest, it is quite interesting, fresh, and attractive, but it is quite slow and does not include all the elements of my profile information. I also understand that it is still in the process of development, so I hope to see better improvements in the future.

I am a positive person, I have my own website and I have to say that everything requires a lot of time and effort to see great results at the end, so I am not going to judge badly your new website because I see great positive improvements so far, such as graphic design, attractiveness, and new courses and segments (I love the Proz Pro Bono section on the new website). Therefore, keep up the good job! Do not despair! Dream big, but start by taking baby steps.

I would agree with you if this were a private site that is just for fun. But it is not. It's meant to be a site for professionals, for doing business - for ProZ itself and for us. And it worked for some time.
I would agree if building the new site weren't taking ages. The fact that it takes YEARS just shows that they don't seem to have it done professionally. The fact that the current site doesn't work for years now just shows they don't work with the right people. The fact that fewer and fewer potential clients are contacting us through the site means that they have probably finally got fed up with the malfunctioning of the site and are now looking on other professional (and well-functioning) sites.
Paying members are actually paying for services they don't get (any more).
Strange as it may sound, the whole situation looks deliberate. As if they wanted us and the clients to go elsewhere.

Now that you mention this frequent “feature,” I have noted a change in jobs posted.
There are much fewer jobs than years ago (when I had a student's account), and I have seen jobs posted elsewhere on other translators' platforms instead of here.
The fewer jobs posted here are in a big majority related to AI, whether they are AI annotation or MTPE, which doesn't happen in other translators' platforms.
So, sadly, I have to agree with your last affirmation: Strange as it may sound, the whole situation looks deliberate. As if they wanted us and the clients to go elsewhere.
It seems I got here too late to look for translation jobs. | | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: How familiar are you with the new ProZ.com site? | TM-Town | Manage your TMs and Terms ... and boost your translation business
