I live alone, so most of the days I eat by myself, except when one of my daughters (she is also a freelancer although in quite a different area) comes to lunch with me during the week. Anyway, we use to eat together almost every weekend. Every six months, we all gather at the home of one of the family members who has a house large enough to accommodate us all (there are usually 20 to 30 of us). May daughter lives in the UK and I'm in Spain so we only see each other in person a couple of times a year at best. This week she is swimming with whales in Tahiti... And today I'm having lunch with friends and neighbours.

The last time I sat down for a meal with any member of my family was almost exactly 12 years ago.
And I've no plans to repeat the exercise any time soon...

Nobody is expecting anything. How hard can it be to just skip questions like these if you don't like them?

I usually cook the meal for my family every day. We usually eat together or separate depending on our mood, but after having breakfast, we gather together to talk about everything, i.e. life, work, relationships, our community, politics and Sacred Scriptures, and so on. I just love it!!!

It's not that I dislike the question itself. That said, when it comes to discussing expectations (especially on a professional platform that I've been supporting for 20 years) I tend to value insights that are more directly connected to our field. We're at a pivotal moment in the profession, and just days away from the annual virtual conference, so conversations about who cooks dinner and whom they eat it with don't feel particularly productive or enriching in this context, at least in my view.
I'll leave it here, but I appreciate the exchange.
