For a few years, but twenty years ago, when I was in Brussels and my family was in Lisbon, I used to take advantage of the waiting time at the airport to work. In addition, on most long holidays, I would take my laptop with me. Lately, I haven't been taking long holidays, just a day here and there...

I usually take a laptop with me on the rare occasion I do go on holiday, just in case something comes up that can't wait. The only time I didn't was a few years ago when my daughter treated me to a trip to the Maldives - and that was because she insisted.

I honestly prefer to have some time and space reserved only for working. If I have some leisure time or some free weeks, I would prefer to have some vacations, travel with my family or simply spend my days walking outdoors and reading a lot.

Unless a vacation is less than 3 days long, the laptop also goes along and I'm always available for work... except that I can't do short deadlines.
