None of my clients are currently in a country at war, but I was involved in a major telecommunications project that ended suddenly because of the ongoing conflicts in Guinea-Bissau (I was paid though).

I had three oustanding invoices from Germany and they all used scammy excuses as to why they were being late. “We are still processing translations” (mind you, after 30+ days), “Your invoice got lost in the records”, and other wonderful online scams and frauds.

Work from countries in armed conflict Mar 11

I have had a number of offers from the Russian Federation but declined because of (1) the difficulty of getting paid; (2) my bank, the Bank of America, has a history of closing accounts (debanking) which receive money from questionable sources. Debanking occurs in other countries as well.
