Although any British person who says "I hear you" has either been watching too much American television (in which case they have lost the nuances of UK English), or they are talking management-speak, in which case you can't believe a word they say anyway.

Otherwise, I think it's pretty accurate. French is reputedly the language of love - UK English is definitely the language of irony!
