Hello! I purchased and have been using the RWS eLearning course, Trados Studio 2022 Level 1. Close to the end, there are sections devoted to using Studio in the Cloud. I created two separate sample Cloud projects and the two .sdlxliff files are now in the File view. However, when I click on those files to open them, they do not open. I created two separate sample Cloud projects and the two .sdlxliff files are now in the File view. However, when I click on those files to open them, they do not open. Instead I get the error message "Cannot open Cloud project file. This project file is still being processed or you do not have permissions to work on it for the current task." I don't know how to resolve this. It's unlikely to be still processing since I have had the files in place since yesterday afternoon. Also, I just checked with the university, whose license this is. I have all permissions. What should I do next? Thanks in advance! When Trados prepares a project, it creates a pair of sdlxliff files with identical names. Make sure you are clicking the target one. You can know that by the language banner icon in the left pane in Trados. | | | Kathleen Tunney United States Local time: 06:53 Member (2021) German to English TOPIC STARTER Thanks for your response, but that isn't the problem. | Jul 12, 2023 |
Hello Stepan, Thank you for your response! I checked, and all is correct with the language pair indicated by the correct flags in the left pane. Can you think of any other reason for the problem? I googled, but to no avail. Thanks! Kathleen | | | Stepan Konev Russian Federation Local time: 16:53 English to Russian

Hello Stepan, Thank you for checking the internet for me. The first link you gave is actually to my own question. Curiously, for some reason I can't fathom, my question was removed from the forum. This was odd, as my question was straightforward and polite, with no extraneous subject matter and nothing derogatory. I've posted in the Community Feedback forum to ask why the question was removed. This was odd, as my question was straightforward and polite, with no extraneous subject matter and nothing derogatory. I've posted in the Community Feedback forum to ask why the question was removed. Haven't heard back yet. In the meantime I'm stuck. I looked over your second link, and while the resulting problem is the same, the cause is different. So I am reluctant to try out their workaround. It would be lovely to be able to call RWS for technical help, but no such option exists. And I haven't paid for the support option, which I assume is expensive. I appreciate the time you took to help. Maybe someone else will come along with yet another idea. Kathleen Tunney wrote: The first link you gave is actually to my own question. No, that link has nothing to do with your question. It leads to a proper [in my understanding] place for asking questions. Recently I suggested the same link to another fellow translator but he somehow posted his issue in two different places, both other than what I suggested. Obviously he didn't receive any response. You can try this form to submit a request: https://gateway.sdl.com/webtocaserequest Also you can try this one for general purposes: https://community.rws.com/product-groups/trados-portfolio/trados-studio/f/general Kathleen Tunney wrote: It would be lovely to be able to call RWS for technical help, but no such option exists. It does. RWS Community is a dedicated place that works as a free help desk. You don't need to pay for asking questions at the RWS Community forums, but you have to do it in proper places. If they removed your post from one forum, try the other. Or email to those who sold you the course.

Hello Stepan, Thanks for your persistent help. I will follow your advice and try a different forum. Of course, I wonder why they can't inform a person via email as to just what forum would be the correct one. I submitted an inquiry about how much the technical support package costs, but haven't heard back yet. Smart money says, it will be too expensive. All the best, Kathleen | | | Stepan Konev Russian Federation Local time: 16:53 English to Russian Why do you need to know that? | Jul 13, 2023 |
Kathleen Tunney wrote: I submitted an inquiry about how much the technical support package costs Why? You shouldn't do that... If you asked about your issue, they could address it for free. Now that you mentioned the cost of their support, they just can't miss this opportunity. | |

There are members in the community, in particular one, who is the Client Services Director for RWS. He is very helpful and understands our issues and needs. If I want an expert, I need to pay as in all areas of expertise, especially when I need a medical specialist, a lawyer or an engineer and even a translator. | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Unable to open Cloud project files (.sdlxliff) Wordfast Pro | Translation Memory Software for Any Platform
