I have noticed that there are all sorts of little fun items for kids that we have in English such as the "Roses are Red, violets are blue" poems, Silly little "knock, knock" Jokes or even "riddle me this" riddles.
Does anyone know any really good ones in Spanish or? If you speak another language that is neither Spanish or English, you are also welcome to share as this is strictly for Fun and games and not really for work.

I think it would be neat if we shared these childhood treats. With the Holidays coming up I thought it would be something fun to share and maybe borrow and use on any children in our lives!

I always thought that poem about the elephants originated in English, but I could be wrong.
"One elephant began to play
Upon a spider's web one day..."
I think this has been mentioned in a forum before somewhere.

You mean my dad is not the author?
Most of the songs we (people in Argentina) used to sing at childhood were originated in Spain (Mambrú se fue a la guerra, which SCARED me, to mention one). This one may have been originated in English, Jack. I don't know... All I know is that I remember having reached unbelievable numbers (ciento veinticuatro elefantes se balanceaban... )

John Churchill, duc de Malborough (dit Malbrouck) projette d'envahir la France à partir de Manderen qu'il occupe en juin 1705, alors que Louis Hector duc de Villars, maréchal de France a établi son campement sur l'Altenberg, au-dessus de Sierck. Mais comme Malbrouck n'obtient pas de renfort, il quitte le château après 15 jours, sans combattre les troupes du maréchal français.
Depuis cet événement, une comptine a rendu le duc de Malbrouck célèbre en brocardant la déroute de ce personnage. Cette chanson "Malbrouck s'en va-t-en guerre" fit le tour de la Cour, de la France, puis de l'Europe.
