The common CAT tools allow integration of the MS Word dictionaries, for spell checking as you type.

Some programs (ex., OmegaT, memoQ) can also use Hunspell dictionaries that can be freely downloaded.

Yes, a spellchecker is a very important tool.
For example, this morning I googled "Hubscheide" instead of "Hubscheibe" and the results were rather embarrassing...
